Sugarland Lawsuit Outcome

Kristen Hall Sugarland Lawsuit Settlement – A deal has finally been made in the lawsuit involving the country duo “Sugarland”. Kristen Hall, a former member of Sugarland, had sued Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles in 2008.

Hall was both a singer and songwriter, contributing to the material which the group produced. The total amount she filed for in the lawsuit was $14 million. The reason she gave for leaving Sugarland in 2005 was to pursue her career as a solo artist, but after she left Hall claimed that she was entitled to at very least one third of the earnings that the group brought in from record sales.

Hall also claimed that back in 2002 she was responsible for carrying the band financially, putting up a large sum of money to get the album “Twice the Speed of Life” out on the shelves in stores across the country. She claims that she was also an instrumental and crucial part of the band, helping to get it started and resulting in its immense popularity. Although the terms of the lawsuit were not disclosed to the public, a judge agreed to sign a document which declared that the lawsuit was officially over after long, bitter, and drawn out legal proceedings involving the musicians.
